A very warm greeting for the new year! May the Chinese ‘Year of the Pig’ bring you prosperity and success!
 
The team at ADC is excited to be celebrating 33 years of advancing ADR in Australia and internationally. Much has happened in the field of ADR since Sir Laurence Street ran ADC’s first mediation training in January 1986.

In 2019, ADC will continue its thought leadership with an emphasis on exchanging insights, trends and innovation in dispute resolution.

ADC has prepared a series of high-level seminars, guest speakers and exciting events throughout the year to keep you informed on current thinking and developments. We are honoured to have The Hon. Justice Robert McClelland speaking at our first event of the new year on the14th of February.  I encourage all those involved in Family Law to register early for this important address by the  Deputy Chief Justice.it is being held in Sydney and simulcast in Canberra.

Throughout 2019, the ADC Bulletin will continue to keep you up to date with ADC’s activities and provide you with insights and trends in dispute resolution from experienced practitioners and leaders in the field.

Good drafting makes for good contracts and good business relationships. Yet these principles are often forgotten when it comes to drafting dispute resolution clauses. They are often an afterthought and an inopportune one at that, as once the rest of the contract has been agreed, the parties prefer celebration to discussing what might go wrong.
