Deborah Tomkinson is the Dispute Resolution Manager of the Australian Disputes Centre.

Prior to commencing at the ADC in September 2012, Deborah was a Senior Associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution team at Ashurst in Sydney and, before that, a Senior Legal Consultant at DLA Piper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where she practiced for three years. Her primary focus has been on commercial dispute resolution in the energy, projects and construction and infrastructure industries. Deborah has acted for clients in various forms of alternative dispute resolution, including facilitation, mediation, expert determination and adjudication, and she has experience acting in arbitral proceedings conducted in the United Kingdom and UAE. She has regularly advised on dispute avoidance and minimisation strategies and on appropriate dispute resolution clauses.

Deborah has been involved in a number of prominent matters in the NSW Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and High Court as well as acting for clients in relation to litigation conducted in the Courts of Dubai (Court of First Instance to Court of Cassation) and the Courts of the Dubai International Financial Centre.

Deborah is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators having completed the Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration and award writing exam.
